CBMM

Sojitz Corporation is a shareholder of CBMM (Brazilian Metallurgy and Mining Company), a Brazilian company that is the world leader in the production and commercialization of niobium. The stake was acquired in 2011 through a strategic alliance with Asian partners, representing an important milestone in strengthening the Sojitz Group's presence in the global market for technological metals.

Through this partnership, Sojitz Corporation actively contributes to ensuring the stable supply of niobium and to promoting its use in advanced industrial and technological applications, such as steelmaking, infrastructure, and electric mobility.

In the next-generation battery segment, Sojitz Corporation develops solutions using niobium-titanium oxide (NTO) as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries, especially aimed at commercial electric vehicles. In this context, the Sojitz Group participates in both market structuring and the international distribution of these technologies, contributing to the global energy transition.
